Após meses de discussões, Brasil e o Reino Unido assinaram acordo para evitar a dupla tributação sobre a renda e para prevenir a evasão e a elisão fiscais. Segundo a Receita Federal, a medida aumentará a segurança jurídica nas transações entre os dois países e resultará na ampliação dos fluxos bilaterais de comércio e de investimento.
A iniciativa amplia o comércio e investimentos entre os países e é importante para tentar vaga na Organização para a Cooperação e Desenvolvimento Econômico (OCDE), diz a Receita.
Segundo matéria da Agência Brasil, Dados do Banco Central apontam que os investimentos brasileiros no Reino Unido somaram US$ 5,2 bilhões (R$ 27,6 bilhões) em 2020, sendo o Brasil destino de investimentos britânicos da ordem de US$ 25,2 bilhões (R$ 133,7 bilhões).
O acordo pretende corrigir distorções, reduzindo o custo Brasil, atendendo a reivindicação de entidades representativas da iniciativa privada brasileira.

Brazil and the United Kingdom sign an agreement to end double taxation
After months of discussions, Brazil and the United Kingdom signed an agreement to avoid double taxation on income and to prevent tax evasion and avoidance. According to the Federal Revenue Service, the measure will increase legal security in transactions between the two countries and will result in the expansion of bilateral trade and investment flows.
The initiative expands trade and investment between the countries and is important for applying for a place in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), says the Revenue.
According to an article by Agência Brasil, Central Bank data indicate that Brazilian investments in the United Kingdom totaled US$ 5.2 billion (R$ 27.6 billion) in 2020, with Brazil being the destination for British investments of around US$ 25.2 billion (R$ 133.7 billion).
The agreement intends to correct distortions, reducing the Brazil cost, meeting the demand of entities representing the Brazilian private sector.
