O Complexo Industrial Portuário de Suape anunciou a retomada das obras de dragagem do canal externo do porto. A ação possibilitará a atracação de embarcações de grande porte, como navios petroleiros do tipo Suezmax, tornando o local ainda mais atrativo para o mercado internacional.
A novidade se soma a recentes anúncios, como a instalação dos terminais de contêineres e de minérios, que viabilizará a construção da Ferrovia do Sertão, ligando o atracadouro às jazidas de ferro em Curral Novo (PI), a 713 quilômetros de Suape.
A iniciativa foi possível graças a um acordo com a holandesa Royal Van Oord, com custo de aproximadamente R$ 140 milhões. A empresa holandesa terá cinco meses para finalizar a dragagem.

Port of Suape: dredging will make it possible to dock large ships
The Suape Port Industrial Complex announced the resumption of dredging works in the port’s external channel. The action will make it possible to dock large vessels, such as Suezmax-type oil tankers, making the location even more attractive to the international market.
The novelty is added to recent announcements, such as the installation of container and ore terminals, which will enable the construction of the Sertão Railway, linking the berth to the iron deposits in Curral Novo (PI), 713 kilometers from Suape.
The initiative was made possible thanks to an agreement with the Dutch company Royal Van Oord, at a cost of approximately R$140 million. The Dutch company will have five months to complete the dredging.
